Mission Statement

Sweet Pea Academy was established to provide a safe, loving and learning environment for your child.  My goal is to encourage his or her natural curiosity through hands-on exploration, experimentation and play.  In addition to age appropriate lessons in the core curriculum subjects of math, science and reading, I believe exposure to art, dance and music is necessary for children to grow into well rounded adults.  Our days will include plenty of physical activity, both indoor and outdoor, as well as nutritious, homemade snacks and meals to facilitate healthy growing bodies.  Every day will be an adventure!

Bio

Hi!  I'm Linda Kaniasty, a twenty year resident of Temecula, California.  My husband and I live in the same home, on the same quiet cul de sac street in which we raised our two daughters; now both in college.  Megan, 22, currently holds an AS in Liberal Arts, Social & Behavioral Sciences from MSJC, and is a year away from completing her Bachelor's at Biola University in Elementary Education with Emphasis on Special needs, minoring in biblical studies. Heather, 20, is finishing a course at San Diego Dental Careers to become a Dental Assistant, as well as general education classes at MSJC.  Both of my daughters are CPR and First Aid certified and have gone through the Social Services background check and TB testing, so that they are fully qualified to substitute in the event that I need backup help.

After a 25 year career in escrow, like many other Californians, I found myself laid-off of work.  I decided to take the opportunity to go back to school and just received my diploma from Miracosta College in the summer of 2012.  My Associate of Science degree is in Nuclear Reactor Systems Technology & Radiation Protection. Pretty heady stuff, but one thing I learned is that if I can ace "physics", I can do absolutely anything. What I want to do now is to help shape the minds of future generations. There's nothing so inspiring as the inquisitiveness of a child!  So, I've dedicated two rooms of my home for Sweet Pea Academy, as well as a very large, fenced in backyard.  We have lots of room to learn and play!  I can't wait for the first of my little "Sweet Peas" to arrive.

Mrs. K.
